One of a Kind

How does this happen? I have 7 socks without a mate. Sock nomes? Do they come in at night and steal socks out of the dirty clothes hamper? I'm sure that there were two when I wore them, but for some reason there's only one when I pull them out of the dryer. I just don't get it. I never lose shirts or pants...just socks.
